HELLO

Hi, I'm Betty Lok, the woman behind WINE COUNTRY DETOURS.  I am a wine and food enthusiast, curious explorer and a mom.

I got the travel bug with my first trip to Disneyland when I was two years old. Our family loved traveling, whether plane, train, boat or car! After college, I headed to work in Japan for two years. On my weekends and days off I would find my way across Japan and Asia. When I returned to San Francisco, I got a normal job and saved up my PTO for an annual 3 week trip somewhere I'd never been before. But on weekends, I found myself in wine country - enjoying wines, fine foods and the company of good friends.

As a former career Executive Assistant, I spent a long time working in the corporate world in San Francisco working with busy executives who traveled the world.  Newly married, we wanted to start a family and maximize our time in Wine Country and moved to Sonoma County.  After "settling down," in Petaluma, I found myself working with event professionals and venues. Then we had a baby and our life changed!

In our free time, I love trying out new wines or taking out an older bottle,  enjoying the cool Sonoma coast on the hot days, or just taking in the view of the vineyards. Sharing the experience with friends and family only makes it better.

With WINE COUNTRY DETOURS, my goal is to take the details of research and planning off your busy hands, so you can enjoy it from the moment you see your first vineyards out the window.
